Vintage Huipil Top- Chajul

$174.00

Handmade in Chajul, El Quiche, Guatemala, this top will add a geometric and flashy style to your wardrobe. Wear it with denim or linen pants for a casual picnic day in the sun, or spice it up with a skirt and boots for a fun night out on the town! Either way you wear it, heads will turn towards your boho-stylish self.

This pre-loved top was hand-woven on a back-strap loom with "Aleman" cotton in a Deep Red color base with black and white stripes. This type of top is one of our most popular garments because of how soft and cool the hand-woven fabric feels.

Iconography: This stunning top has a woven-embroidered design of various butterflies. In Guatemalan culture, the Butterfly is a symbol of freedom and life after death or hardship. Within us, a Butterfly can represent freedom from unwanted habits, freedom from past heartache, and freedom of the spirit. The Butterfly may hold special significance to someone who has overcome great adversity. Great piece to add to your ethical wardrobe!
