Huipil Tops -Vintage Mayan Blouses

Simple to operate: this snag repair needle can help you to repair a variety of fabrics, including your Mayan blouse (Huipil). I use this needle on most of our pre-loved tops to repair weaving stiches.

This gorgeous mesh Huipil top, hand embroidered is from the Cobán Alta Verapaz region of Guatemala.

Coban's Huipil' s often are hand-embroidered with rococo embroidery, a unique technique used around the neckline. The traditional cloth was hand-woven open and sometimes referred to as "gauze-like" fabric.

Lightweight and airy, this blouse is the perfect for spring, summer and fall. Featuring flowers embroidered by hand around the neckline, the base is a beautiful white base, with an additional simple white cotton base at the bottom to make it longer.

NOTE: it does have a faint stain at the bottom on the back of the blouse(picture enclosed), but it is not too noticeable.

Stunning detail with hand-embroidery, this vintage huipil (traditional Mayan blouse) is originally from Patzún, Guatemala. This particular region of Guatemala is known for their floral embroidery design around the neckline as well as the red vertical stripes, symbolizing the blood of their Mayan ancestors.

It features the ceremonial Mayan calendar with tiny Cats & Butterflies embroidered around the neckline. Stunning!

This particular huipil is a ‘poncho’ style blouse that is normally worn tucked in or cinched in by a thick belt. This particular square huipil has not been sewn up on either side, making it ideal to wear over a tank top.

This beautiful pre-loved Guatemalan Huipil is from the Maya village of San Antonio Palopó, located on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. It was hand-woven on a backstrap loom, 100% handmade with striking multi-color background of  blue, purple, white and black stripes that are traditionally of this region.

This is a longer blouse, made with 3 panels, joined together by an embroidered "randa" design. It also features a beautiful hand embroidered design around the neck. It is made from 100% cotton. Handcrafted by Maria and her daughter, you are supporting their weaving techniques with this purchase!

This amazing Mayan blouse (Huipil) has a traditional intricate brocade work featuring several different bird, tree of life, and plant designs found in San Juan Sacatepéquez, Guatemala.

The huipils from San Juan Sacatepequez are known for their bright and bold colors. They often feature a combination of bright blues, greens, pinks, and yellows. This particular one has a bright yellow base with purple and green stripes. The huipils from San Juan Sacatepequez are typically larger than huipils from other parts of Guatemala. They are designed to be worn loose and flowing, rather than fitted. These unique characteristics make them easily recognizable and highly prized by collectors and admirers of Mayan textiles.
