This is a spectacular, authentic vintage Huipil from Nahuala, Guatemala.

This stunning Huipil has a woven-embroidered design of Mayan Jaguars. The animals woven into Huipils are often associated with certain traits or characteristics that are believed to have spiritual significance. For example, the jaguar is a powerful and respected animal in Mayan culture, and is often associated with leadership, strength, and protection. Great piece to add to your ethical wardrobe?

The base material is 100% cotton; making it a thicker material. Wear it with denim or linen pants for a casual picnic day in the sun, or spice it up with a skirt and boots for a fun night out on the town! Either way you wear it, heads will turn towards your boho-stylish self.

Please review measurements below to ensure proper fit. All sales are final.

Measurements on flat surface: Sizes are a "fits like" guide and not a standard measurement.
  • This Huipil fits like LARGE & XL
  • Bust (armpit to armpit): 31" inches wide
  • Length: 24" inches long
  • This Huipil is closed at the sides
  • Condition: Great vintage condition. Please note that this blouses has lived a previous life and therefore shows some signs of age but DOES NOT have any holes or repairs. The embroidery on the top is in remarkably great condition.
  • This vintage Huipil was personally purchased by Angelica, founder of Tesoros Maya. This Huipil was ethically sourced and the artisan was paid fair price.

CARE:

  • This Huipil was 100% handmade from beginning to end; therefore naturally there will be some imperfections. You could see some loose threads, DO NOT pull just snip with scissors. Or you can use BLOUSE SNAG REPAIR NEEDLE to repair weaving stiches.
  • For a better care, we recommend hand wash or DELICATE cycle only.
  • Dry flat
