Vintage Top - Huipil

This darling Guatemalan Huipil features colorful embroidery in Cherry Red lines, with white stripe details and stunning butterflies and hieroglyphics in pastel colors. A rare find for this region. Hand-woven on a back-strap loom, this soft Huipil is originally from Huehuetenango, Guatemala.

Tops from this region are known to be short, relatively wide and worn hanging loose outside the corte (traditional Mayan skirt). 

This top will add a geometric and flashy style to your wardrobe. Wear it with denim or linen pants for a casual picnic day in the sun, or spice it up with a skirt and boots for a fun night out on the town! Either way you wear it, heads will turn towards your stylish self.

• This Huipil is amazing because it can fit a SMALL, MEDIUM and Large frame - this top runs wide but SHORT
• Bust (armpit to armpit): 25” inches wide
• Length: 19” inches long

• Condition: Great pre-loved condition. The neckline was tailored open to provide a more comfortable fit. This top is soft and in amazing condition. 

• This vintage Huipil was personally purchased by Angelica, founder of Tesoros Maya. This Huipil was ethically sourced and the artisan was paid fair price.

Care: 

• This Huipil was 100% handmade from beginning to end; therefore naturally there will be some imperfections. You could see some loose threads, DO NOT pull just snip with scissors. Or you can use BLOUSE SNAG REPAIR NEEDLE to repair weaving stiches.
• Not suitable for machine dryers, dry on a flat surface
• To ensure this blouse has a long life, we recommend washing it by hand or on a delicate spin cycle only
• This traditional blouse was 100% handmade from beginning to end; therefore, naturally, there will be some imperfections
