This Natural Dye Kimono is ultra soft and the perfect layer for spring and fall to add to your ethical wardrobe!
This stunning organic cotton, silky-to-the-touch kimono was woven exclusively for Tesoros Maya by the local women's cooperative of San Juan La Laguna, Guatemala.
They use their centuries old traditions of natural dying and weaving; these pieces are colored using all natural dyes derived from local plants and minerals, like indigo, turmeric, rosemary, purple basil and chimney ash. The unique textiles pattern is created by using a traditional technique of tying and dying the threads called ikat or jaspe and weaving the fabric on a back strap loom.
Features:
- One size fits most: Kimono measures approximately 33" inches from shoulder to bottom seam, and 34" inches wide
- This kimono/robe was made with 100% organic silk cotton thread and the Ikat weaving process; and was naturally dyed using locally sourced plants and herbs
Care:
- Not suitable for machine dryers, dry on a flat surface
- To ensure this blouse has a long life, we recommend washing it by hand or on a delicate spin cycle only
