Rebozo - Mayan Wrap (Pre-loved)

This pre-loved rebozo is from the area of Solola, Guatemala. Hand-woven on a back-strap loom with "Aleman" soft Brown/Earth Tones base. It is deliciously soft!

This beautiful handwoven, naturally dyed and eco-friendly throw is the best ethical gift one could receive! Traditionally, "perrajes" (shawls) from Maya villages are rather short, meant for covering shoulders but can also be used folded and worn as a head covering in church, during childbirth, or even as a practical wrapping cloth for carrying items around town. It feels as if no woman leaves the home without a perraje. Ornamental and practical, the best of both worlds.
