This beautiful hand woven Huipil (Mayan blouse) was hand-woven on a back-strap loom, and it is originally from Santa Catarina Palopó, Guatemala.
The garment is made of mid-weight yet very soft, hand-woven fabric. It features a Purple Plum cotton base and a variety of designs including butterflies, grapes and peacocks; stunning!
When you buy a Huipil, you are truly wearing Guatemalan history and an one-of-a-kind, masterpiece.
This particular huipil is a ‘poncho’ style blouse that is normally worn tucked in or cinched in by a thick belt. This particular square huipil has not been sewn up on either side, making it ideal to wear over a tank top.
