Elevate any look with our woven Ikat/Jaspe headband! Ethically and sustainably made by talented weavers in San Juan La Laguana, Guatemala. Each headband is woven with organic cotton threads and dyed naturally with local plants, herbs, and spices.
Process: The "Ikat or Jaspe" design is process that begins by tying knots onto warped threads, which are then plunged into natural dye baths. When the threads have been dyed and dried, the knots are removed revealing the designs, then the threads can be woven into this textile. Guatemalan master weavers use locally sourced plants and herbs to create dye baths that they apply to cotton or rayon threads. They use a banana tree trunk solution to fix the color and help stabilize the dye, ensuring the color will never run.
