This beautiful pre-loved Guatemalan Huipil is from the Maya village of San Antonio Palopó, located on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. It was hand-woven on a backstrap loom, this blouse has striking blues, reds, black, and purple colors that are traditionally of this region.

This is a larger blouses, made with 3 panels, joined together by an embroidered randa design. It also features a beautiful hand embroidered design around the neck.

It is made from 100% cotton. When you buy a Huipil, you are truly wearing Guatemalan history and an one-of-a-kind, masterpiece.

  • This Huipil was personally purchased by Angelica, founder of Tesoros Maya. This Huipil was ethically sourced and the artisan was paid fair price.
Please note: The entire piece is a genuine hand-woven and therefore shows some signs of age and loose thread but has no holes or repairs and is in remarkably good condition considering its age. Many Huipiles are now embroidered using sewing machine which can also be referred to as 'hand made'. This piece is made entirely without the use of machine.

  • This Huipil was 100% handmade from beginning to end; therefore naturally there will be some imperfections. You could see some loose threads, DO NOT pull just snip with scissors.
  • For a better care, we recommend hand wash
