This darling Guatemalan Huipil features colorful embroidery in dark burgundy base, with multi-colored SILKY stitched details. Hand-woven on a back-strap loom, this soft Huipil is originally from Patzicia, Guatemala.
The designs were all added during the weaving process using supplemental weft brocading, and they are very nicely done. It consists of two panels, seemed down the center. The rows of designs in the two panels match quite well.
When you buy a Huipil, you are truly wearing Guatemalan history and an one-of-a-kind, masterpiece.

Please note: The entire piece is a genuine hand-woven and therefore shows some signs of age and loose thread but has no holes or repairs and is in remarkably good condition considering its age. Many Huipiles are now embroidered using sewing machine which can also be referred to as 'hand made'. This piece is made entirely without the use of machine.
