Stunning detail with hand-embroidery, this vintage huipil (traditional Mayan blouse) is originally from Patzún, Guatemala. This particular region of Guatemala is known for their floral embroidery design around the neckline as well as the red vertical stripes, symbolizing the blood of their Mayan ancestors.
It features hand embroidered tropical birds, flowers and grapes underneath the collar on both the front and back in a variety of colors.
This particular huipil is a ‘poncho’ style blouse that is normally worn tucked in or cinched in by a thick belt. This particular square huipil has not been sewn up on either side, making it ideal to wear over a tank top.
