This unique white Guatemalan Huipil features geometric tight designs brocade and abstract Mayan shapes. Hand-woven on a back-strap loom, this 100% cotton Huipil is originally from the region of San Andrés Semetabaj, Solola, Guatemala.
Traditionally, Guatemalan tops are very vibrant. Finding white base tops are really difficult to find and also very rare.
This top was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-matched white cotton base panels. The panels are decorated by supplementary brocade featuring geometric patterns in a dark burgundy color.
When you buy a Huipil, you are truly wearing Guatemalan history and an one-of-a-kind, masterpiece.

Please note: The entire piece is a genuine hand-woven and therefore shows some signs of age and loose thread but has no holes or repairs and is in remarkably good condition considering its age. Many Huipiles are now embroidered using sewing machine which can also be referred to as 'hand made'.
The pictures on the website do not do this product justice. In person the hair wrap has so many beautiful details. The colors are vibrant and it is long enough for those with long, medium or short hair. Simple instructions are provided but I am excited to learn the different ways to use it in my hair. I have already been inspired to wear this as a necklace and belt. I can't wait to get more!
Loved it. Wish there was another choice w brighter colors but this one is great.
Very well made. Cute idea
