My goal is that your children, along with mine learn to appreciate and differentiate between

artisan-made products.

I want our children to challenge the rules of beauty, one hand-made item at a time.

Angelica, Founder of Tesoros Maya Co.

Tesoros Maya Co. is a small company based in Dripping Springs, Texas that works directly with Guatemalan  indigenous families to source newly and vintage woven Guatemalan fabrics and accessories.

My name is Angelica, I am the founder of Tesoros Maya. I am a Chapina (Guatemalan) born and raised.

At the age of 10, my mother risked everything to seek a better life for me and my siblings and embarked on a 23-day trip from Guatemala to Houston, Texas. Not a day goes by, without thanking her for her sacrifice in seeking a better life for me, my siblings and my children.

I am a mother and a wife, with a long standing desire to honor my Maya ancestry. Tesoros Maya was born as a legacy to my children; a platform to instill a sense of pride and honor for my colorful Maya culture and it’s traditions. At the same time, I am honored to use this platform to empower Guatemalan women, weavers, artisans, and their families by providing them with a fair wage and sustainable income.

And just like you and me, the women we partner with are following their dreams to be self sufficient entrepreneurs. Just like you and me, they seek the ability to provide a life of opportunities for their children.

We work with artisan craftsmen and talented indigenous weavers in Guatemala to preserve traditional techniques and provide an outlet for them to sell their goods. I am most grateful for this opportunity and the ability to showcase the entrepreneurial spirits of the Maya world, and to you, for supporting this ongoing effort to empower indigenous communities in rural Guatemala through fair trade practices.

Thank you for your support and for joining me and my family on this journey!
