Huipil Table Runner - Tecpan

$78.00

This vintage hand embroidered textile has been repurposed from a vintage Huipil (Mayan blouse) into a table runner. The sides have been finished with a traditional Corte (Mayan skirt) textile in matching and complimentary colors and fridge ends.

This stunning table runner was made using an authentic and vintage Mayan blouse (Huipil) from the region of Tecpan, Guatemala.

Featuring traditional indigenous patterns and vibrant colors, this table runner conveys culture, quality and Guatemalan pride. This is a perfect centerpiece for your dining room table or just a jewel of textile to brighten your home.

Approximate measurements:

  • 47" inches long (handwoven fabric only)
  • 61" inches long (handwoven fabric and fringe on both ends)
  • 13" inches wide
  • CARE: Machine wash cold, hang to dry
  • This vintage Huipil Table Runner was personally purchased by Angelica, founder of Tesoros Maya. This Huipil table runner was ethically sourced and the artisan was paid fair price.

Please note: The entire piece was genuine hand woven and hand embroidered, and then sewn at the edges. Many Huipiles are now embroidered using sewing machine which can also be referred to as 'hand made'. The original blouse piece was made entirely without the use of machine. It is a genuine antique and therefore shows some signs of age and loose thread but has no holes or repairs and is in remarkably good condition considering it's age.
